Here at Quarr Abbey, we care deeply for the nature that lies right outside our door, which is why we are so pleased to be offering you the chance to support a sustainable local artist.
Patter Products is a small business here on the Island that we at Quarr Abbey have partnered with to reuse and recycle the scraps and plastics others may discard. Beginning with carving and crafting beautiful home decor from reclaimed wood from our own estate and workshops, Patter Products now continues on to use the milk bottles and lids from our very own tea rooms to create magical, unique pieces.

“The story behind what I do all started with me making random crafts in my shed, all from bits laying about – including pallets etc. After a while it got to the point where I had so many bits, that my wife suggested I have a stall at our daughter’s Christmas Fete.
The plastic side of it came about after a fairly unsuccessful attempt at designing and selling T-shirts. Linking with another Isle of Wight company to print t-shirts opened my eyes to the level of waste in the fashion industry as well as our daily lives. After some YouTube tutorials I found that there are plenty of safe and fun ways that I could use discarded plastic as a new material to work with.
My story continues with my partnership with Quarr Abbey. I recycle plastic from the teashop and wood from the workshops and estate to create products to sell in the Quarr Abbey farm shop which in turn supports the Quarr Abbey charity.”
